The College of Business and Management Studies (CBMS), Kaduna Polytechnic, successfully hosted its 18th Annual Conference, themed “Digital Transformation and Tax Reforms: The Future of Work in Nigeria.” The event brought together key stakeholders across academia, government, and industry to deliberate on emerging trends shaping Nigeria’s economic and workforce landscape.
The conference was held under the chairmanship of Professor Aliyu Mamman of the Air Force Institute of Technology, while the Royal Father of the Day, Alhaji Jibrin Mohammed Magaji, Danmakwayon Zazzau, District Head of Kawo, graced the occasion with royal blessings. The lead paper was presented by Professor Seth Akutson of Kaduna State University, offering insightful perspectives on digital innovation and fiscal reforms. The keynote address of Comrade Jerry Adams, Executive Chairman of Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, (KADIRS), was ably delivered on his behalf by Dr. Muhammad Lawal, who emphasized the critical role of technology-driven tax systems in enhancing revenue generation and economic growth.
The event took place at the Prof. M. S. Haruna Lecture Theatre, CBMS, Kaduna Polytechnic, and was formally declared open by the Rector and Chief Host, Dr. Suleiman Umar. The welcome address was delivered by the Dean of CBMS, Dr. Hauwa Aliyu, who highlighted the importance of aligning academic discourse with national development priorities. The conference attracted a wide array of participants, including scholars, researchers, consultants, lecturers, and students.
