What made the moment even more profound was His Royal Highness’s decision to host the gathering despite the recent fire mishap at the palace. This speaks volumes about his strength of character and his unwavering commitment to unity. It was a powerful reminder that even in difficult times, the things that bring us together must always endure.
In many ways, His Royal Highness’s commitment to fostering unity at the community level perfectly complements the inclusive governance vision of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Senator Uba Sani, CON, whose administration continues to promote policies that strengthen cohesion, expand representation, and ensure that every part of Kaduna State feels seen, heard, and included. It is through partnerships like these; between traditional institutions and government, that the foundation for lasting peace, trust, and sustainable development is firmly laid.
The event was graced by an impressive array of leaders and stakeholders, reflecting its importance as a symbol of unity and shared purpose. I was pleased to receive representatives of His Excellency the Governor and His Excellency the Deputy Governor, represented by the Honourable Ado Dogo, Political Counsellor to the Governor. Also in attendance were the Chairmen of Jema’a and Kaura Local Government Areas, Honourable Peter Tanko and Honourable Obadiah Sankey; the representative of the Honourable Minister of Defence, Mr. Musa Likita; the Director General of KADCHMA; the Chief Protocol Officer to the Governor; faith leaders including the CAN Chairman of Kafanchan, his JNI counterpart, and the Anglican Bishop of Kafanchan; as well as Mr. Peter Gabriel, Regional Manager of UBA Kaduna and Jagaban Piriga, among many other respected dignitaries who travelled from far and near.
Year after year, this gathering continues to bring together people of different faiths, ethnic backgrounds, and walks of life, not just to break fast, but to share fellowship, understanding, and a sense of community. Sitting among brothers and sisters from across our diverse society, I was reminded that beyond our differences, we are united by our shared hopes for peace, stability, and progress.
At a time when Ramadan and Lent are being observed side by side, this moment carried even deeper meaning. It reminded us that faith, sacrifice, compassion, and love for one another remain the strongest foundations upon which we must continue to build our society.
I am sincerely grateful to His Royal Highness and the Emirate Council for the honour and the warmth extended to me. Moments like this strengthen my belief in the promise of our communities and the future of Kaduna State.
